Ill be perfectly honest and say yes I came here to leach and leave. However I do find that this forum has more to offer.. Ill happily help any member out as and when I can though mostly limited to pre 2002 Mitsubishi's and Volkswagen's up to-date with them. However my point is this forum doesn't really have much to offer in a community sense nothing other than my cars not working please help section or i need a file. Hello! I have been reading much about the Launch Diagun last time, and decided to buy it. I recieved it couple of days ago, and have been trying it on different cars. I am not impressed!!!
I don´t know if it is something wrong with my diagun, when i recieved it was in spanish and after a few hours i found how to change language. I might have been changing other settings because i don´t understand spanish.
here are the results:
Mitsubishi carisma 1,8 GDI year 2001 - can´t communicate with car in any mode exept obd2, it stucks and show please wait, even after 30 minutes.
Volvo v40 1,8 year 2002 - the ecu is not supported, failed
hyundai Accent year 2001 -could read fault in ABS, but not engine, i had to diagnostic it by obd2 software.
I have been trying several times both with the red connector and with specific cables for carmake, reseted the unit, and spent a lot of time on this without any good result.
Can i get some advise?

I would like to know if, anyone has a step by step written tutorial to install das xentry 01-2011 as i have the video guide but it is for 2009 and the steps taken in it are different compared to the 2011 version. I have tried several times but all attempts are unsuccessful. I have been to the section in this forum and checked for guides including the ones from Zolookas and the original but neither give comprehensive instructions. Hopefully someone can help. Failing that would someone who has used the video guide give written instructions as to which steps to take and in what order as the program consul has been updated to the February 2011 and the installation is different. I have a Citroen XM 2.5TD fitted with a Bosch 0 281 001 336 ecu. The ECU is the wrong one for the exact model and year (RP number) of XM. Therefore I searched for the correct ecu, Bosch 0 281 001 589, and found one on ebay. I now have it. I replaced the wrong ecu with the correct one and started the engine. I did not need a code. The green light was on the keypad when I turned it on.
However, after running the engine for several minutes I switched off. After I did this the red LED came on and now I cannot start the engine because I don't know the code for the keypad. I understand, after a bit of searching, that the replacement ecu had probably been disconnected from the keypad whilst unlocked and would have remained unlocked if I had disconnected the keypad. Unfortunately the keypad was connected and the ecu is now locked.
I am aware that the ecu can be unlocked but I'm not sure of the exact steps. As far as I know I need to remove the eeprom from the ecu. I have opened the ecu but I am having trouble identifying the eeprom. I see two chips labelled 1037355913 and 1037355914 but these are sticky labels. The original chip manufacturers ID is hidden underneath the sticky labels. If I identify the correct chip and remove it from the ecu I believe I need to plug it into a programmer connected to my laptop via usb. I then need the appropriate software to take a dump of the eeprom. By deciphering the data dump I can identify the key code.
I am a complete novice at this so please treat me gently. Can anyone provide any guidance on the following:
1)How can I identify the eeprom?
2)What hardware do I need to buy to read/programme the eeprom?
3)What software do I need to talk to the hardware?
4)Once I have the eeprom data dump, how do I identify the key code?
I have a Lexia but this does not help. I can include a photo of the inside of the ecu if that is any help.
