had bad luck today, i think i toasted a engine ecu from a bmw e90, was testing wiring and the case from ecu touched the positive from car, as a result no more communication with the ecu, and ofc no more start.

now my question, if i buy a second hand ecu, can i retrofit and if so what do i need to change, or do i just have to solder of the eeproms and flash and car will run?


ecu is Bosch 0 281 013 252 , normally i have a full abrites around but my college isn't around atm.

So my question is how to virginise a bosch ecu

car is a bmw e90 / 318d from 2006 .

Hi mates.
I'm running Star Diagnosis 03.2012 version with VMware workstation 9.0.
Everything works fine, without problems.

I'm using a FTDI USB to RS232 adapter cable: http://www.ftdichip.com/Support/Document...00-500.pdf

My problem is the communication speed of my Star Diagnosis with the car. For example when I'm checking the actual values of "idle engine" the refresh rate of the values is very slow.
Also the time to complete the "quick/short test" on a car is long.

Is there any configuration to make the system run faster as an original system? I've try also original Part D multiplexer and the results are the same slow...

My physical system is:
2,2GHz Intel core 2 Duo
4GB Ram
Windows7
256GB SSD

I tried to remove the dome light / map light cluster but, in a moment of carelessness, I've damaged the circuit board & assembly. (it's the ceiling mount console by rear view mirror which houses the airbag off indicator, sos call button, ultrasonics for alarm & Bluetooth microphone connections)

I've got another to replace it, but now need to code it to work. (lights are all working, airbag indicator working, but microphones aren't. haven't tested alarm sonics yet..)

Could anyone please suggest what I'd need to do to recode this? There is a sticker on the old one with S/N and 7 digit VIN but not sure if it's telematics / phone or alarm that needs updating.

What is the best option to come back to my mileage ?
Read eeprom from speedo and bsi or is any other way ?
i don't want open speedo last time when i open and put everything back show me lower sped and rpm

a couple weeks ago i ordered a remap online for £45 from well known vag remapper.gave him my ecu number & he sent it to me via email.i then put the map onto car with galletto 1260 cable. every now & then its like the car reverts back to old 110bhp map.ive heard this is impossible though. if i switch engine off then restart car theres no change.BUT if i then remap the car again with the map from mapper its back to being quick.i have done this about 6 times now & each time it stays for a certain amount of time,but will eventually go back to being like the 110bhp boost/acceleration etc. I have sent remapper a copy of map when my car is slow,and also when its quick,but thought id ask here if anyone knows whats going on.
1 more thing,when the map gets put onto car,straight afterwards theres a ABS,& engine ecu no communication intermittent fault.if i login thru vcds to instruments,i get a 9.0 minute lockout.today i waited on the lockout time counting down to zero then mapped car again,but got an error while reading it.im confused.anyone?

Renault Scenic 2 / 2005 / 1.6 K4M engine

Not sure if this is a problem with my Clip Sonde (genuine) with V141 and Reprog 130 off mhh used the mhh keygen for the V141 all seems to work perfect. Or if it is a problem with the latest Handbrake modules from Renault.

After replacing the handbrake unit i connected clip to carry out the normal configurations i.e engine code,how many seats, etc etc.
But Clip just says NOT RECOGNISED. i can go into the module but there is no fault code table no data and all functions are greyed out ( works perfect in all other modules that are recognised)

I selected reprograming and the handbrake module is listed. I have tried to carry out reprograming with Reprog V105, V121 and V131 but all have the same error message "DATA BASE DEFECTIVE Contact Tech Line". (tried Reprog on the injection ECU works perfect)

In computer consultation i seem to have a problem with the Aproval number see screen shots. Can anybody tell me exactly what the aproval number is and where it is generated from ?

Luckily i have been able to easily configure the handbrake module the normal way using a TEXA machine
So the handbrake is now functioning as it should and everything seems fine. But even now configured and working the clip machine is unable to carry out any functions on this module not even code reading as it is still listed as NOT RECOGNISED. also all aftermarket scanners on first connection give a warning saying "module cannot be identified carry on at users own risk"

Any help with this is much appreciated, i do hope that renault are not trying to implement some kind of component protection on new modules, because if they are it's kind of backfired with this one as aftermarket kit can configure and diagnose faults, but clip seems useless.

Hello friends,

I came across a 2011 530 xd and after replacing all bags, seatbelts etc pedestrian part from the bumper, I still have one DTC that trigers the pedestrian warning on dash. I have read with autocom and the message is
930BCA - Unknown fault code. This is the only thing stored int the restrains module. The car was seriously damaged and it is at first crash. Is it posible that this code is actually crash data stored in ECU. If so how can it be cleared. I do not have ISTA I have a D-Can interface working with Progman or Impa . I can also open module and read eeeprom if someone knows the address where this is stored.

not sure this will help anyone or if it is already on here somewhere.
a lot of peugeots come up with aribag stage 2 fault drivers airbag, i believe this is down to either the rsistance or broken cables in the com unit clockspring.
you can bypass this by taking of lower steering cowls and finding 2 pin plug (think it was brown) at bottom corner of com unit. place a 1.4 ohm or there about resistor in the plug after disconnected and see if that fixes it, airbags still function after this has been done.
may help someone instead of pulling steering wheel off and the rest.

i am sure someone far cleverer than me can help with this one. 2005 kangoo 1.5 dci immobilser light is staying on after we have had battery out to replace gearbox, had this plenty of times on clios before and ussually right themselves by leaving ignition on, however this kangoo is having non of this. on launch faults are code not validated and key not validated. not sure if recoding key will help as customer only has the one key anyway.
if anyone is willing to get me pin code i would be much appreciated.

New to the forum, so please be gentle.
I have a 2007 Megane 2.0 Dci GT and have had problems with the Gloplugs burning out after 1 months use. Even using Bosch quality. The plugs supplied are always 7 volt but the car puts 12 volts to them.
I have been told that there is a fix by using Renualt Clip to change the pre-heat (gloplugs) to a FAST, as there was a design change to the gloplugs. Does anyone know of this ???
I have installed Clip (ver 131) on a Compaq laptop with Windows 7 Pro 32-bit and when connected o the car only installs one Driver. From my extensive reading, it should install 4 drivers. It will read the VIN number from the car, but will not scan for any codes, or perform any computer tests.
Help required to sort out this mess please.
P.S. The car also have a 187BHP re-map.
