The fault is the car not starting - I scanned it with star diagnosis and DAS is unable to connect to ECU. After thorough inspection, found out that ECU is dead. - {edit:} ECU has part number A1131538679
I have manged to find a used ECU with the same part number as the the one in the non-starting car, pulled out of another CLS500 (same model also).
Now, my doubt is how is the procedure for swap out the dead ECU for the used one and starting the car? After putting in the used ECU, will it require SCN coding and/or programming? I have a Star Diagnosis system (SDConnect Mux with XENTRY 11.2012) - so hopefully this is enough to perform the online coding (if required)?
Any help greatly appreciated!
EDIT: After a lot of searching, I have come to understand that all ECU's are 'married' to the car, and if we put in a another ECU with different VIN, it won't work - for DAS to initialize the replacement ECU in the car, the ECU needs to be 'virgin' (not having a VIN no. stored inside). This post help a lot - it says that AVDI can be used to make ECU virgin - Any ideas on other methods to make a used W219 CLS500 ECU into 'virgin' state? As AVDI not available to me here.
EDIT 2: - Would also appreciate if anyone shares information of a reliable shop/person which provides service of virginizing used ECU
I've been searching this forum and others, I'm looking for version V86.02, .03 or .04 updates. I have a vcm 2 and it works on V86.01a but some functions are not present. I was hoping that an updated version would work. A lot of the links are old or don't work anymore. I hope someone has an updated link.

1. Please Uninstall previous version, then restart your PC
2. Install ODIS_Service_v.2.0.2-RC341V_P2.exe from Setup.
3. Choose license.dat from Patch License.
4. Replace OffboardDiagLauncher.exe with patched from Patch License.
After ODIS 2.0.2 installation , open the patch folder & copy and paste the "offboarddiaglauncher.exe" Patch inside the C:\Program Files (x86)\Offboard_Diagnostic_Information_System_Service folder
5. Mount postsetup.iso from its folder "PostSetup 4.5.70" use Daemontools to mount the postsetup 4.5.70.iso Image
6. Start ODIS from desktop.
7. Choose path to Postsetup\update in virtual CD.
8. Wait for the end of postsetup 4.5.70.iso update installation.
9. Then when update is finish just start the Odis from your
desktop.
if the update window comes up, click cancel
The the odis 2.0.2 program will begin to start the Software itself, be patient.
