I am trying to learn about the basics of replacing ECUs, in particular Mercedes-Benz i.e ME2.8 & ME9.7. I purchased the full CGDI MB and KTAG/KESS kits from VXDAS and I have a couple questions.
Firstly, why exactly would one choose cloning vs making virgin and adapting, and vice versa?
Secondly, what is a good power supply for both the CGDI and the KTAG?

I have a problem with my Ford Focus MK3. I need to replace the BCM. I ordered another one with the same part number "BCM 2 JV6T-14A073-EB." Unfortunately, it turned out that despite having the same part number, the internal components are quite different. My original unit is based on SPC560, while the new one I received is on Motorola. I can't clone it.

i read the ecu in boot mode with kess3
i try to read with eeprom editor neuro tunning
and with web octopus
with eeprom editor the error is could not encode MCU ID
with web octopus cannot decode eeprom dump
the files fom kess3 can be opended with ecm titanium with out problem
Hi, Please help remove dpf and egr from W906 Sprinter. 2010. The ecu is Delphi CRD2.xx. Read out by obd with Flex. I bought allready 2 times mod file from recommended users. Still no help. MIL lamp flashing and eobd scans show dtc P2BAC . Im looking 100% solution, if this exist. Any help is welcome, thanks.

I have a problem with a BMW X1 with CAS3....the car only starts if I reset the ELV errors with diag, or unplug the CAS and plug it back in.
In diag I have these errors in the CAS unit:
A0AF: CAS processor
A11E: ELV defective
A0AA: control unit defect
Could it be that this CAS unit is faulty? I checked the components and soldering and everything seems to be ok
Or is the problem in the ELV unit under the steering wheel?
What is the best solution in these cases?
