I am wondering what temperature to put my rework station to de-solder the 29f400 chip from my edc15c7 ecu? Some say 300 C,some say 350 C.
I have a few old circuit boards with chips on them I can practice on to get the hang of using the hot air gun/wand beforehand.
PS I have another ecu set already installed in car so if I f@ck-up this ecu,it’s not so bad.
Also, when protecting nearby components next to the 29f400 chip,can I use some aluminium foil? Some say online that a thick screwdriver can be laid on top of a component but don’t know if it’s a good idea. Thanks

Hi, recently I got in my shop a CLS that had inside the dashboard a Can Filter, I removed it and now the dashboard has the can lines open because the can filter was in series.
Does anyone know what components are missing in the image between the solders?
I'm guessing probably as 120ohm resistor in both but I'm not sure.
hi all guys, I would like to process a denso 89661-42a10 ecu but apparently it is the only one that does not have an ori or cuw file to convert. I know, for an egr it's not worth it, but I would still like to move forward also to learn and do something new... I wanted to understand if there is a way to extract its cuw by reading somehow through a programmer... I have I've already tried looking for a cuw on the official Toyota website... but it doesn't bring any update bulletin, so nothing exists. I bought a guinea pig ecu to do some tests, does anyone have any ideas?
