Hi, I have two EDC17C64 ECUs that I want to clone onto my Golf 7, one is the original and the other is a second-hand unit I purchased.
I have already read the EEPROM and flash files from the original ECU.
I took these two files and wrote them onto the second ECU, which is identical to the original one.
However, when I connect it to the car, the immobilizer activates, and the car won't start.
When I reinstall the original ECU, the car starts without any issues.
I believe that one possible solution would be to disable the immobilizer, but that is not an option for me as I want to keep everything original.
Besides writing the EEPROM and flash, am I missing any steps?
Why doesn't the car start if both the EEPROM and flash come from the original ECU?
Shouldn't it start without any issues?
I used PCM Flash with ScanMatik 2 Pro for the reading and writing process, the checksum is correct, I haven't encountered any issues with OTP and password, and the writing process completes successfully.
What am I missing?

Ciao amici, ho iniziato ad aggiornare HU6 con DTS (per vedere le novità) ma si è bloccato al 20% ed è andato in modalità boot, ora non riesco più a caricare software. Rimane uno 0% per circa 30 minuti e poi errore. C4 Senza DOIP ovviamente errore subito, con VCX C6 DOIP DTS 9 30 minuti e poi errore, invece con SCN online si blocca al 3% per molte ore e poi continua senza successo. Il firmware è quello che aggiorna XEntry Online (originale)

I am having a strange issue with 1996 Z3 and my confirmed working kess v2.
First something odd happens that INPA failed to connect to bosch M5.2 (Confirmed DME is bosch M5.2) but if i select bms43 it connects and shows some analog engine parameters (with errors but i can see RPM readings and other parameters).
I ignore the issue since i only wants to tune DME file so i proceeded with kess v2 protocol 250 for M5.2 it read the ID but failed to read it starts to read but fails in the process i pump up voltage as per some guys saying to 13.7V i could read the file successfully after almost 7 failed attempts.
Files is full and looks 100% valid in calibration area at least using winols compared to stock M44 files and damos with strange Siemens stuff as photo.
After googling some said that this error happens when HW ID won't match with Kess files.
Attached the file with photos from Kess ID and Winols... Now i need to write the tune but i am afraid that it might fail and ruin the dme.
Hi all, as the title states, I need help with a cas3 issue. Crank but not start.
I posted this in another forum but I've got no successful help. So coming here hoping for a fix seeing as others have had their issues resolved on here.
E60, ELV issue. Elv would not reset with dealer tools autel, launch etc.
So right now this is the situation:
With godiag cas3 platform, eeprom read failed many times
So, I did keytoolplus weld read of eeprom and flash successfully after a few tries.
I've attached below. The flash seemed to be faulty. I made a no-elv flash file, I also made a repair file (didn't use) using cas3+ editor.
I wrote the elv-off flash file to the cas. I did flash read, again, and the files were the same. I also did a eeprom read and it seemed to compare differently from the 1st read compared to read after with the no-elv flash file.
Put the cas in the car, and it cranks but no start?
Any advice please?

I'm looking for reliable cluster tool, mainly odo repairs/corrections. I would like tool that can do job mainly thru OBD. VAG is most interesting, MQB, NEC35xx and RH850.
I have x-tool but for newer VAG that is most interesting here it needs to take out cluster and do it on bench RH850/NEC35xx)
I see different tools like ODO master, Dash coder, Diag prog etc., and can't make a valid decision. But I know that there are here masters of business
I have Astra K 2016 Sports Tourer and I’d like to change my steering wheel.
Beside original steering wheel is quite used and shabby, my main goal is to get heating option - my current steering wheel was lacking this feature, as you can see here:
I’ve seen on youtube and on some forums that people have managed to install Insignia B OPC steering wheel in Astra K, so I’ve bought one few days ago. It’s really great - leather is very nice and soft; driving with this is like another level of experience
But in order to get all buttons working I guess I have to change pins in connector. I get that arrows up/down won’t work because they are supposed to work with uplevel instrument cluster - I have midlevel, so they’re not important. However I’d like to activate heating button and music buttons - change songs and +/- volume and backlight would be nice
Currently few buttons on the left side works (collision distance alert, cruise control button).
Do you have some pinout / wiring diagram for this connector? Maybe I have to do something else?

I have a problem, I installed INPA 5.0.6 so I can diagnostic my own Mini Cooper R53.
The installation went well and I got all bunch of stuff like WinKFP, BMW Coding Tool, NCS Dummy, Tool32, NCS Expert and so on...
The problem is that when I start INPA, it shows different models of car but not R50... I got the extension for RR and R56... But I don't care its irrelevant for me.
Anyone can remotely set up my INPA so I can have R50 in it, and also teach me how to do it in case I need to re install in the future?
Please do let me know I am willing to pay to whoever helps me
