My friend's car has a problem related to the engine control unit software. He bought a used car, the engine control unit software of which had been tuned when purchased.
The tuning program is poorly done because when you try to drive the car, for example, on a normal road trip with cruise control, the car goes into limp mode.
Where would it be possible to get the original unmodified software for this car?

I have a client with a 2001 Toyota Prado with intermirent immobiliser issues, theyve sent the vehicle to auto electricians, mechanics and locksmiths, replaced the immo ECU, transponder and amplifier (with second hand parts as they can no longer get parts) to no prevail. They have been left with an immobile vehicle that they have to get towed too many times that they now can't trust the vehicle.
I had a look today, the car started when I got there however I proceeded to diagnose and didnt really find anything obviouse (Rats/mice teeth marks in the harness). I retentioned some very loose looking pins on the ECU connector and a few others on the transponder harness however the car started another 20 times for me without fault I'm just not confident I've fixed the issue and cant guarentee they wont get caught out again.
How difficult is it to disable immo? Is it possible?

DTC: B2799 - Engine Immobiliser System Malfunction
Hello friends , Kia Sportage SL 2011 all needles on instrument cluster wont work,
lighting,indicators, and other lights work. Customer says that sometimes it starts to work again so it's intermittent issue but for last month it didn't work.
Car has no fault codes, I got diagram from kia gds and checked all grounds and powers,
measured can c and can b with osciloscope they look alright.
Opened cluster checked for cold solder and measured caps, mosfets for short and 5 and 3.3 v voltage regulators they all output good readins and none are shorted.
