I hope you’re all having a fantastic day filled with perfectly synced instrument clusters and zero dashboard gremlins! I’ve got a bit of a puzzle on my hands, and I’m hoping some of you fabulous folks can help me solve it before I start talking to my dash like Tom Hanks talked to Wilson in Cast Away. The Mission:
I’m swapping out the instrument cluster on my 2008 VW Polo 9N. The old dash is a Magneti Marelli with the 9S12H256 MCU, and I managed to read the EEPROM using my trusty UPA-USB Programmer. I’ve attached the .bin file from the original cluster, but I need the PIN so I can adapt everything nicely in the new cluster (which is still in transit—apparently it prefers traveling first class). Question:
How do I extract the PIN from this .bin? (I’m guessing there’s some combination of automotive wizardry and a dashful of luck involved.)
Once I get the new cluster, I’ll be happy to post that .bin as well, if needed.
Which tools would be most helpful for retrieving the PIN from these dumps?
Tools I already have:
ODIS E (though it prefers to show me cryptic messages more than helpful ones, at times)
VCDS (the old faithful for most VW issues)
KESS (for engine tunes, but I’d prefer not to scare my cluster with it)
UPA-USB Programmer (my digital Swiss Army knife for EEPROM reading)
So, dear automotive geniuses, do any of you know which magic incantations, software solutions, or dance rituals under the full moon might help me get that coveted PIN? Any tips, tricks, or comedic advice (because if you can’t laugh while messing with car electronics, what can you do?) would be greatly appreciated!

So for whatever reason, my golfs ABS module has decided it does not want to be coded anymore, and has just set to all 0s, dash lit up.
I have tried taking the code from another car same spec and no joy, I would be immensely grateful for anyone who could help. I really don't want to have to take it to the stealership to have it sorted. I have taken a full VCDS readout if that will provide anyhelp. I have already had to have a complete engine rebuild and am getting sick of spending money on it. Thanks in advance for anyone who can help.
